Halloween Festivities!

On the evening of October 27th, SPGSI Chengdu Campus was transformed into a magical Halloween fairyland. From Toddlers to Year 11, students and families dressed in their spookiest and craziest costumes to enjoy a wonderful Halloween party!

With hundreds of students and parents walking together, the much-anticipated Costume Parade began the evening. Fantastically dressed students, parents and staff walked and danced around the school pitch, excitedly showing off their finest Halloween creations. During the Costume Parade, three winners were awarded the coveted ‘Best-dressed family’ prize.

As nightfall brought in the dark shadows, SPGSI Chengdu’s campus became increasingly mysterious and exciting. Junior School students and parents enjoyed a wide range of Halloween activities such as spooky cookies, balloon monsters, skeleton jigsaws, catch the bat, facepainting, pin the witch’s hat on Benjie, witches’ broom, and pumpkin races… all in the vast Planets Suite which was glowing with pumpkin lights. Senior School students, meanwhile, had their own party in the new Sixth Form centre complete with a costume fashion parade, karaoke, and a Monster disco!

As our annual Halloween party came to an end, it was wonderful to see the happy faces on children and adults alike, as revellers left with bags of candy and goodies and a wealth of happy memories! SPGSI Chengdu regards every traditional festival as a valuable cross-cultural exchange opportunity, encouraging our students to experience the essence of different cultures through a variety of activities.
