Working at SPGS International School Chengdu

SPGS International Chengdu advocates for a strong growth mindset and promotes global citizenship by blending the core ethos and DNA from St Paul’s Girls’ School in London with Chinese culture.

SPGS International School Chengdu provides a space for children to learn, grow and thrive physically, emotionally and academically. Each child will have access to exceptional learning experiences, diverse extra-curricular activities and leadership opportunities that will promote a well-rounded education. Both schools are developing strong links with the area’s hi-tech industries and benefiting from Chengdu’s growing international business environment. Students are encouraged to take advantage of advanced technical opportunities to ensure that creativity and innovation thrive within the school.

Additionally, the creative arts are an integral part of the curriculum with a performing arts centre and art gallery on the campus. SPGS International Chengdu values music at its core, which is based on the strong musical traditions at St Paul’s Girls’ School in London where Gustav Holst was the first Director of Music and Composer in Residence. Students have benefitted tremendously from musical opportunities at SPGS International Chengdu.

The Junior School is led by Phil Farrier-Price, who has more than 20 years’ experience working in international and bilingual schools in China, whilst the senior school is overseen by Naomi Edwards, who has a decade of experience in senior leadership across UK schools.

Teaching at SPGSI is a uniquely stimulating and rewarding experience because we are committed to creating an exciting and dynamic environment for learning. All teachers are encouraged to participate fully both in the life of their academic department and the wider life of the school, as well as to pursue their own professional development.

Rooted in our values, we are a school where potential is realised, professional partnerships are grown, and futures thrive together in one community.

Why SPGSI?
