Clubs and societies - SPGS International

Clubs and societies

At SPGS International School Chengdu, our clubs and societies programme is designed to inspire and empower students at every stage of their educational journey.

In the Junior School, we offer a diverse array of over 120 after-school clubs daily each week, catering to a wide range of interests and passions. From the energetic beats of Zumba and Hip-hop dancing to the serene practice of yoga and the disciplined art of Kung Fu, there’s something for every young child to explore and enjoy.

We believe in the importance of exposing our students to a variety of activities, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones and discover new passions. Through participation in our Junior School clubs and societies, students not only develop new skills and talents but also cultivate a sense of curiosity and open-mindedness that will serve them well in their future endeavours.

As students progress to the Senior School, they are given the opportunity to take on a more active role in shaping their extracurricular experience. With a strong emphasis on student leadership and initiative, senior students are encouraged to establish and run their own clubs and societies, covering a diverse range of activities and interests.

This level of personal ownership fosters invaluable skills such as communication, leadership, and organisation, preparing students for success in later life. Whether it’s leading a debate club, organising community service projects, or spearheading a cultural appreciation society, senior school students at SPGS International School Chengdu are empowered to make a positive impact both within the school community and beyond.

Through our clubs and societies programme, we aim to not only enrich the educational experience of our students but also to instill in them the confidence, creativity, and resilience needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
