University Destinations

As a top academic school, almost all St Paul’s alumnae go on to the very best universities in the UK and overseas, including Cambridge, Oxford, other leading Russell Group universities, as well as top American universities, generally Ivy League or equivalent, including Brown, Chicago, Columbia, Harvard, Pennsylvania, Princeton and Yale. However students are reminded that they should always consider which is the best university and course for them. 

St Paul’s Girls’ School has a full programme of higher education activities throughout the VII (Year 12) and VIII (Year 13) led by the higher education team. Girls’ and parents are invited to a Saturday Higher Education Conference in the VII which brings university admissions tutors from a range of institutions into school, to give their perspective on what they will be looking for in applications and at interview. A variety of staff are on hand to help guide the choices girls will need to make. Tutors, departmental academic mentors, and higher education coordinators work together with the girls and parents to provide the support necessary; whether helping to complete applications, or preparing for interview. There is a US school counsellor as part of the higher education team who hosts a number of visits from US admissions representatives keen to talk to the girls. Our Old Paulina network is an invaluable resource for helping the girls gather the information and guidance needed to plan for the next stage of their lives.

Examination Results

St Paul’s Girls’ School has established itself at the top of the independent sector with its consistently outstanding exam results. It has topped the entire national table for combined exam results (A level & GCSE) 11 times in the 12 years between 2010 and 2023 (as measured in the Sunday Times Parent Power League Tables).
