Why Choose Us?

Why choose SPGS?

Stronger Together

St Paul’s Girls’ School has a meaningful relationship with SPGS International School Chengdu and is involved with all aspects of the school, from recruitment to curriculum planning, sharing best practice, staff mentoring and governance. Staff and students are further enriched by working collaboratively with their peers in London, from school visits to online language exchanges.

Beyond the Classroom

We embrace a holistic, discovery-based approach to learning both in and out of the classroom by encouraging our students to develop their individual interests. In the Junior School there are over 35 different clubs. We also encourage students to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, that challenges young people to explore new possibilities and achieve high standards in creative sports and community projects.

Learning & Teaching

Intellectual excitement and a joy in learning permeate our school. Students experience a broad education, taught in small classes. Our curriculum follows the internationally recognised British National Curriculum, combined with elements of Chinese language and culture. Our teaching staff are drawn from leading schools in the United Kingdom and beyond. Our exceptional pastoral care framework enables all students to thrive and our dedicated EAL and Learning support team ensure that student learning is individualised.

Preparing for the Future

From day one at SPGS International School Chengdu we are preparing students for the rest of their school, university, and work life. Students are academically challenged but also provided with the opportunities to develop teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills. It is this unique combination of academic rigour, intellectual curiosity and discovery that characterise the academic environment and aid transition to university study.

Community

We value our tight-knit community and emphasize engagement beyond the classroom. Partnering with organizations like Hope Station Charity, Melbourne International Music Festival, Pony Club, and Jinsha Site Museum, we offer students diverse opportunities to discover new passions and broaden their horizons.
