Admissions Process
Welcome to SPGS International School Chengdu! We are delighted that you are interested in becoming a part of our family. Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision, and we want to provide you with all the information you need to make the best choice for your family and future student. Our dedicated admissions team is on hand to guide you through the process, and they are happy to answer any questions you may have as you move from application to enrolment and registration.
Applications for current and future school years are received on a rolling basis and subject to space availability. The admissions team is always happy to answer any queries you may have about our holistic teaching philosophy, campus or support for students. I. Admissions Criteria
Passport Requirements
We accept students who are foreign passport holders, or Holders of a Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan or Hong Kong and Macau. If you have any questions about this requirement, please contact our Admissions Office.
Year Group Age Requirements
The table below indicates our age requirements for each Year Group. You can use these guidelines to help you determine which year to apply for:

2. How to apply

Step 1: Applying
Interested families should apply directly by filling out and submitting the online Application Form with the supporting documents and pay the non-refundable application fee of RMB 2,000. The Admissions Team will acknowledge the receipt of application to the applicants within 1 working day.
Supporting documents checklist:
● One copy of each parent’s passport
● One copy of each parent’s Residence Permit for Foreigners in China (not applicable to Chinese nationals)
● One copy of your child’s passport
● One digital passport-sized photo (taken within the last six months)
● One copy of your child’s Residence Permit for Foreigners in China (if applicable)
● One copy of your child’s birth certificate
● One copy of your child’s previous school records (if the applicant has previously attended school or kindergarten)
● Supporting documents of educational psychologist reports for any special learning needs (if applicable) -
Step 2: Assessment
Once the Admissions Team has reviewed your application, a face-to-face or online assessment would be arranged. Both parents and children would be invited to the assessment to allow us to better understand how well your child and family could fit in our learning community.

Step 3: Application and Assessment Review
The Admissions Committee will process and review your application and assessment. Decision would be made within 5 working days and be communicated by letter.

Step 4: Feedback on Admissions Result
Successful Applicants
Parents should confirm acceptance of the offer within 10 working days. To secure your place upon acceptance, an enrolment fee of RMB20,000 will be required. The fee will be deductible from the first tuition fee payment.
Waiting List
If there are more qualified applicants than available spaces, a waiting list letter will be sent. Parents will be contacted once a space is available.
Denied Applications
Application closed. Applicants may apply after 12 months.
